Kinetic Menu Layer Management

Kinetic Menu Layer Management

Customisation of Epicor Kinetic screens is routine.

Customisations can be drastic. More normally, though, they’re relatively trivial, something like moving a field, hiding something you don’t want to be a distraction, or adding an extra component. It’s normal.

Either way, what most users then notice is that the result seems inconsistent. Sometimes they get the modified version, sometimes they don’t. And that’s usually because the most popular screens can be opened from a lot of different places within the menu structure, and each needs setting up individually to open the specific version of the screen. It’s not even always obvious to the user where they’ve opened something from.

Most developers know this, of course. But even for experienced developers making things consistent can be tedious, with the risk of missing something.

So at META eight we created a standard dashboard to manage it. Nothing flashy, just practical.

And we’ve made it free to anyone who feels it might be useful to them, too. Everything you need, including instructions, is here:
